FARGO — For the first time in more than three years, nowhere in North Dakota is experiencing drought conditions, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor.
There are, however, still “abnormally dry conditions” in the far northeast corner of the state.
While it may feel like there was a lot of rain this summer, WDAY Storm Tracker Robert Poynter said that perception comes from previous summers with below-average rainfall.
He said Fargo is sitting slightly above average for summer rainfall this year, with just over the seasonal norm of nearly 12.5 inches.
"While it has been certainly stormy this summer, just the amount of dry summers we've had recently makes it feel like this is a pretty wet summer. It's actually around average for this time of the year," said Poynter, WDAY Storm Tracker mete
