CHICAGO (WGN) — It may only be September, but it’s never too early to mark your calendars for the Chicago Polar Bear Club’s 25th annual Polar Plunge.

The plunge will take place at noon on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Oak Street Beach.

Registration for the plunge is now open, and the club is running early bird specials with tickets priced at just $25.

The money raised from the plunge goes to help families in need around Chicagoland. Last year, the event raised $115,000 for six families.
