CHICAGO — Drivers are facing significant delays during rush hour on Tuesday morning after a shooting investigation shut down a portion of the Eisenhower Expressway.
Illinois State Police say troopers are currently investigating a possible shooting along the inbound lanes of I-290 near Independence Boulevard in Garfield Park.
While it is currently unclear what exactly unfolded, it appears troopers have shut down the inbound lanes of I-290 at Cicero as they conduct their investigation nearby.
SkyCam 9 was over the scene around 7:10 a.m. Significant backups could be spotted from overhead.
Three large trucks could be seen blocking the four lanes of I-290, diverting traffic off at Cicero.
Nearby, troopers can be seen near a box truck, though it is unclear if it was involved in the incident
