COLUMBUS, Ohio — One person is seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle in southeast Columbus Monday night, according to a public safety dispatcher for the city.

Officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called on a report of a pedestrian struck at South Hamilton Road and Winchester Pike around 10 p.m.

The dispatcher said the person was taken to Mount Carmel East hospital in critical condition.

It's unclear if the vehicle stayed at the scene.

The intersection where the crash occurred is closed in both directions at this time.
