CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A 24-year-man is under arrest on a murder charge in the 2021 deadly shooting of a mother of six children in Over-the-Rhine, police announced Tuesday.

Diamonte Irby Richard, 24, is accused of gunning down Brandi Turner on East McMicken Avenue on Sept. 25, 2021, according to the Cincinnati Police Department.

Two other people were shot and wounded.

Brandi’s sister, N’Dia Turner, says the 35-year-old single mom was out trying to enjoy a rare night out but was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

“She was just trying to celebrate. That’s all she was trying to do,” N’Dia told FOX19 NOW in September 2021.

Irby Richard was booked into the Hamilton County Justice Center late Monday night and held overnight without bond.

He could appear in court as soon as Tuesday mornin
