University Medical Center nurse Terry Mogilles has been caring for patients for more than 40 years.
"I will continue until we get it to where everyone has the best health care in this city, it is what drives me and all these nurses,” Mogilles said.
Mogilles, along with dozens of UMC nurses, packed Armstrong Park, protesting on Labor Day.
The rally comes amid years-long negotiations for their first union contract.
"Which is going to include safe staffing ratios right now, ill patients, sometimes the ratio is 6 to 1, we cannot manage that safely,” Mogilles said.
