BUFFALO, N.Y. — The annual Labor Day Parade took place in South Buffalo today, and the community was out and about supporting local unions and laborers.
"This is one parade in which you have men and women that are labor force come together to celebrate the accomplishments of the past and what needs to be done going forward," said one parade walker.

"We come here just to show our solidarity with out workers in Western New York. All workers not just union, but nonunion also, to show that you have rights and deserve proper working conditions and pay," said another walker.
Labor Day was first established in 1887 in New York State, and was adopted as a federal holiday in 1894.
