CLARENCE, N.Y. — Firefighters were called to put out a fire at an abandoned trailer, as well as a large pile of metal and debris behind a building on Main Road in Newstead.
Amherst Fire received a single report of an unspecified fire at 11111 Main Road, according to the department. Newstead Fire Chief James Infanti said the fire was located well off the road behind the building.
The fire remains under investigation. Damage is estimated at $20,000.
Several fire companies assisted the Newstead Fire Company in putting out the fire, including Clarence Fire Company, Akron Fire Company, Clarence Center Fire Company, Swormville Fire Company, Crittenden Fire Company, Pembroke Fire Company and Indian Falls Fire Department.
No one was hurt.
