A man has been charged after a child was allegedly sexually assaulted at a campsite in the Highlands.
Detectives launched a probe after a child had allegedly been approached within his tent at the Loch Ness Bay campsite between 12.20am and 1am on Thursday, July 31.
The eight-year-old, who was part of a family of tourists visiting the Highlands from Europe, was allegedly attacked while his parents slept in the tent next to him.
Police yesterday confirmed they had arrested a 44-year-old man in connection with the alleged sexual assault. The force has confirmed the man has now been charged.
He is due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Tuesday, September 2.
