Edinburgh MP Ian Murray has returned to government just one day after his 'disappointing' sacking.
On Friday, the MP lost his job as Scottish Secretary amid an ongoing emergency Cabinet reshuffle by Keir Starmer. He was replaced with former trade minister Douglas Alexander.
In a statement, the former publican said he was "hugely disappointed" at the decision.
"After the dreadful legacy from the previous government, there is a lot more to work to do," he said. "I will remain as impatient for change as the public. Politics in the UK, and elsewhere, now is at a dangerous crossroads.
"I am hugely disappointed to be leaving government, with so much done and so much more to do."
Murray, who was the sole surviving Labour MP in Scotland after the 2015 and 2019 general elections, h
