A new Mexican restaurant has moved into the Golden Gate Center at Golden Gate Drive and Cornwallis Ave.

Mezcali Mexican Restaurant, at 2270 Golden Gate Drive, is the third Mezcali location for owner Juan Martinez. The other two are in Huntersville and Charlotte, near Matthews.

The restaurant, which opened this May, serves lunch and dinner seven days a week. It has about 54 seats inside – including 10 at the bar – plus about 20 seats on the patio.

The full bar has both Mexican and American brands on draft with plenty more in bottles. The wine list is limited to two reds and four whites, but there’s an extensive list of margaritas, daiquiris and other cocktails.

“We have drink specials every day, seven days a week,” said Stephani Mejia, who runs the Greensboro location with Felipe Lorenz
