TORONTO (WJW) - Graham Greene, an Oscar-nominated actor best known for his role as "Kicking Bird" in the 1990 western "Dances with Wolves," has died, according to reports.

As reported by Deadline and other outlets, Greene's agent confirmed that he died in a hospital in Toronto on Monday after battling a longtime illness.

He was 73.

“He was a great man of morals, ethics and character and will be eternally missed," his agent, Michael Greene, told Deadline in a statement.

Greene, born in Six Nations Reserve in Ontario, Canada in 1952, was nominated for in Oscar in 1991 for best actor in a supporting role for his performance in "Dances with Wolves," according to IMDB.

He was also known for roles in The Green Mile (1999), Wind River (2017) and a slew of other films and television series.
