TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCJB) - The newly appointed Florida Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Blaise Ingoglia, a Republican, announced on Tuesday his intent to run for the position in 2026.

In a campaign announcement video , Ingoglia highlighted his work spearheading Gov. Ron DeSantis’ Florida DOGE initiative to review government spending and tax policies.

The task force has launched audits of numerous municipal governments in recent months after first targeting the city of Gainesville and Broward County. The results of the investigations have yet to be released.

Ingoglia promises to lower property taxes and advocates for the elimination of taxes on homestead properties in the campaign announcement. Property taxes are a primary source of funding for many local governments in Florida.
