FANNING SPRINGS, Fla. (WCJB) - A teenage girl from Chiefland died in a crash on a major roadway in Levy County on Tuesday morning.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers say a semi-truck was improperly parked on the northbound right lane on US Highway 19 near Northwest 160th Street, just south of Fanning Springs, around 9 a.m.

A 16-year-old girl, headed north on the highway, was unable to stop and crashed into the back of the semi-truck’s trailer.

She was taken to the hospital, where she died. The truck driver wasn’t hurt.
