Michael Boren’s appointment to oversee the U.S. Forest Service could be confirmed by the U.S. Senate on Tuesday, Sept. 2, according to the Senate's executive calendar.
However, more than 100 other nominees are ahead of Boren on Tuesday’s Senate calendar.
Tuesday’s session ends the Senate’s traditional August recess.

Boren is known locally for owning the 480-acre Hell Roaring Ranch, south of Stanley. He was first nominated for undersecretary for natural resources and environment by President Trump on Jan. 16. If confirmed, he will oversee Forest Service operations under Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins.
