The run of 12 increases in 13 days that boosted the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County to its highest amount since June 24, ended Tuesday with a decrease of two-tenths of a cent to $4.638.

The average price increased 16.4 cents over the past 13 days, including nine-tenths of a cent Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It rose nine consecutive days, was unchanged Friday and resumed increasing Saturday.

The average price is 4.8 cents more than one week ago, 17.3 cents higher than one month ago and 3.6 cents greater than one year ago. It has dropped $1.855 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.
