PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Two police officers were hurt overnight as they tried to apprehend a suspect in north Phoenix.

Phoenix Police said officers responded near 7th Street and Union Hills Drive around 1:15 a.m. for a report of a man armed with a knife and threatening employees of a business.

The man reportedly assaulted several employees at the business, then left before police arrived. No employees were injured, according to Phoenix PD.

Officers then tracked the man to 2nd Street and Bell Road after he broke out windows to several businesses in that area. When police caught up to him, the man reportedly assaulted the officers before being detained.
