Tributes have been paid to Scottish football icon Jimmy Bone following his death at the age of 75.

Jimmy - a well-travelled former striker and manager - began his career with Partick Thistle before going onto play at eight other clubs including St Mirren, Celtic, Heart of Midlothian and Arbroath.

It is understood that Bone had been receiving end of life care, he passed away on Monday, September 1.

After hanging up his boots in 1986, Bone went onto enjoy a successful career in coaching. After his retirement he was inducted into the hall of fame at both Partick Thistle and St Mirren for his contribution as a player and manager.

Tributes have since poured in from clubs and fans across the country following the news of his death.
