CHARLESTON, Ill. (WCIA) -- Nobody was determined to be hurt or missing after a rental kayak was found floating unattended in Lake Charleston on Monday.
The Lincoln Fire Protection District posted on Facebook that they responded to the lake after a kayak was seen in the middle of the lake with no one in it. Working with the Charleston Park and Recreation Department and the Charleston Police Department, Lincoln Fire obtained a list of people who rented kayaks throughout the day.
"Everyone was accounted for, with one of the renters reporting that there was a malfunction with the rental locker and they were unable to put the kayak back in the locker," Lincoln Fire officials said. "CPD was able to confirm all of the vehicles at the lake were accounted for, and interviews with other parkgoers
