Former Hearts goalscorer Jimmy Bone has sadly lost his life aged 75.

Jimmy was well known in Scotland having began his career at Partick Thistle before securing appearances at eight other clubs including the Jambos, St Mirren, Celtic, Arbroath, Norwich City and Sheffield United.

It is understood that Bone had been receiving end of life care, he passed away on Monday, September 1.

After hanging up his boots in 1986, Bone went onto enjoy a successful career in coaching. After his retirement he was inducted into the hall of fame at both Partick Thistle and St Mirren for his contribution as a player and manager.

Fans of Hearts will remember Jimmy for his nurturing characteristics as he helped to bring through several young players including the club legend, John Robertson.
