The family of a mum-to-be who was pushed to her death from Edinburgh's Arthur’s Seat held a memorial on Tuesday - just days after a crackdown on ‘honour’ abuse was unveiled.

Fawziyah Javed, 31, was murdered by her husband, Kashif Anwar, at the Edinburgh landmark in September 2021 after he learned she planned to leave him, reports The Record.

The pregnant lawyer managed to identify her husband as her attacker as she lay dying, having suffered multiple blunt force injuries plunging 50ft from the hill.

On the fourth anniversary of the tragedy, family paid tribute to the mum-to-be after her “legacy” helped spark a raft of measures aimed at tackling crimes committed to defend the ‘honour’ of a family.
