EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — An Evansville woman is in jail after a stabbing investigation Monday.
Police say they were called to investigate a report of a stabbing on Branchwood Drive around 10 a.m.
At the scene, officers say they found a man with a stab wound who was taken to the hospital.
EPD says the suspect, Alana Schaffer, said she was in an altercation with her ex and admitted she "poked" him with a knife.
Detectives say they found the knife inside the residence, and that a child was also inside when the incident happened.
Schaffer was taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail on charges of domestic battery in the presence of a child and domestic battery with a deadly weapon.
