NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Four people were injured in a dog attack in Newport News on Monday, police confirmed.
According to Newport News police, officers were dispatched on Monday to Barbour Drive in reference to two vicious canines. When they arrived, they found four victims suffering from dog bites.
Police said two of the victims were taken to a hospital for treatment. It is not known how serious their injuries are.
Animal control officers responded to the scene and took custody of the two dogs.
Newport News confirmed Tuesday that the dogs remain in the custody of Animal Welfare, where they will stay during the course of the investigation.
Animal Welfare is leading the investigation, which remains ongoing.
