CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — September is Hunger Action Month in Centre County, and according to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, there are more people in need than ever.

Katie Kerr, the government relations coordinator at the food bank, says one in eight adults in Centre County is "food insecure." She also said they have seen an increased need since COVID, and expect to see even more after federal changes to SNAP benefits.

"I think in the food bank sphere, we expect to see an increased need for our services," Kerr said. "That looks like more neighbors visiting food pantries across the Commonwealth, not just within our service territory, but within the other service territories."
