MISHAWAKA, Ind. (WNDU) - Mishawaka Mayor Dave Wood called this year’s September newsletter both a progress report and a caution flag.

The progress report comes with this month’s announcement of the reopening of Cedar Street Bridge, which opens the road back up to some much-anticipated heavy traffic over the St. Joseph River.

But that caution flag comes when talking about the prospect of future city developments.

“If the ( Senate Enrolled Act 1 ) cuts take full effect, we will do our best to minimize service disruptions. But the truth is: it will not be business as usual,” Mayor Wood said in the newsletter.

This is because the city continues to invest in infrastructure projects, but the new law passed by the Indiana General Assembly may throw a wrench in the works.
