Crews are responding to a serious motorcycle crash in Putnam Tuesday night.

The CT Department of Transportation said the accident happened on Route 12 in the area of Killingly Avenue around 6 p.m.

Fire officials said they're at the scene of a serious crash, and a LifeStar helicopter is responding to the scene.

Killingly Road is expected to remain closed for an extended period of time.

The crash is under investigation. No additional information was immediately available.
