BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) -- The West Bloomington Revitalization Project has opened its application for its annual Bed Blitz program, offering new beds to children in need.

"We give a bed kit that includes a mattress, a frame, pillows, blankets, quilts, a teddy bear, laundry detergent and some books free of charge to any student here in Bloomington, Normal, aged 5 to 18. There's an application process that is currently open," said Robert Bosquez, the co-chairman for Bed Blitz.

This is the ninth year for the project, and this year they are giving away 125 beds, all made by volunteers in the area. Organizations also help out, including Shermans, who provide free mattresses, and Youth Build, which provides the space to build the beds.
