DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - Iowa House Representative Monica Kurth announced she will not seek reelection on Tuesday.

Kurth currently represents District 98, which includes part of Davenport and Buffalo, and has served in the legislature since 2017.

Kurth said she decided not to run again because she needs more time with family and her hobbies, according to a Facebook post.

“I’m leaving an amazing (though frequently frustrating) experience at the General Assembly but taking with me so very much!” Kurth said in the post. “I cannot thank enough my family, my colleagues, my constituents and all the wonderful people I’ve gotten to know for all they have gifted me with.”

Andrew Fitzgerald announced he was running for the district on Tuesday.
