The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that weekend lane closures for bridge slab repairs and roadway concrete patching are scheduled for this coming weekend (September 5-8) on Route 222.

Work will be in between the Ephrata and Colonel Howard Blvd interchanges in the area of the Route 222 bridge spanning Church Street (Route 1051) in East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, a press release said.

Weather permitting, work will be from 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, to 6 a.m. Monday, Sept. 8. There will be lane restrictions in both directions of Route 222 in the area of the bridge. An 11-foot width restriction will be in place.

Motorists should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.
