A single-car crash in Newton County on Monday afternoon resulted in the death of one person.

The Newton County Sheriff's Office reported that a car heading west on County Road 1000 South, just east of U.S. 41, left the road for unknown reasons. The car rolled over, ejecting the driver.

The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are withholding his name until his family is notified.
