Police have closed off the road

A vast stretch of the A60 Nottingham Road has been closed in both directions due to a crash between a van and a lorry. The road has been closed between Mansfield and Ravenshead and police said a man had been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police said: "Officers were called to Nottingham Road, near Harlow Academy, at 8.33am today (September 3) after a collision between a van and a lorry.

"A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries and the road is expected to be closed for some time while investigations take place. People are being advised to find alternative routes and avoid the area."

The road has been closed from the B6020 Main Road in Ravenshead to the A617 Sherwood Way South, Mansfield.
