BRAINERD -- After a scoreless season opener, Lilly DeRosier and the Brainerd Warriors girls’ soccer team exploded.

It didn’t take long either.

Less than three minutes into Brainerd’s Central Lakes Conference matchup with the Fergus Falls Otters Aug. 27, DeRosier booted a ball into the back of the net. Seven minutes later, she recorded her second goal of the game and the early season.

The senior forward completed the hat trick with just under three minutes remaining in the first half.

“We were so hungry,” DeRosier said about the Fergus game. “We have such a good, hard-working group of girls. We knew Rogers (Brainerd’s season-opening opponent) was going to be a tough game.
