ROCHESTER — Rochester Catholic Schools were in a “precautionary secure mode” following a "concerning phone call" made to at least two of its schools on Thursday, Sept. 4.
The school system "confirmed that all locations are safe," according to an email message sent to parents. "However, out of an abundance of caution and in response to a concerning phone call," school was dismissed early.
Rochester Catholic Schools President Tina Monosmith in a statement said that "at no point were any of our students or staff in danger."
Rochester Police Department Capt. Jean Valere, speaking to media, said the Catholic school system's main office received the first call, communicating a bomb threat. A second call followed a few minutes later to Holy Spirit Catholic School.
