MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WV News) — West Virginia’s deer hunting seasons are set to begin later this month, with the archery and crossbow season opening on Sept. 27, according to the state’s department of natural resources.
The season runs through Dec. 31, providing hunters with an extended period to pursue deer. This season is one of several scheduled hunting seasons for various game species across 2025 and 2026.
In addition to the archery and crossbow season, the buck firearms season is set for Nov. 24 to Dec. 7. The antlerless deer season, available in selected counties, is a split season with dates in October, November and December.
