Sirens flashed. Horns honked. Horses trotted. Candy was thrown. Bellevue commemorated Labor Day on Monday with a parade down Main Street and a festival in Memorial Park.
Bellevue was treated to clear skies and warm temperatures for Monday’s activities. The day began with an antiques sale and lemonade stand next to the Bellevue Historical Society Museum in the former city hall building on Main Street. Vintage piggy banks, original paintings, an old Victrola record player and a cast iron pot were just a few of the vintage items for sale.
The Bellevue Historical Society hosted a service commemorating the 80th anniversary of the ending of World War II. An honor guard from Mountain Home Air Force Base marched with precision and presented the colors.
