Last Friday, a street in the east end of San Luis was named Leo Papo Neblina Avenue, in honor of the late music teacher Leobardo Neblina.

Leo Papo Neblina Avenue is located in the recently opened Los Mezquites 4 housing subdivision.

The new street sign was unveiled in the presence of family, friends and representatives of Riedel Construction, led by its owner, Nieves Riedel. She is also the city’s mayor.

Neblina was a music teacher for many years in the Gadsden Elementary School District and a promoter of musical arts in the community.

On Nov. 18, 2022, Neblina died in an accident while traveling to a performance with the local musical group, “Los Chicos de 512.”
