A 24-year-old Yuma man was arrested early Wednesday morning after allegedly breaking into multiple vehicles outside a hotel on the 10500 block of South Fortuna Road, according to the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were dispatched around 2:05 a.m. on Sept. 3 to a report of a burglary in progress. A group of out-of-town visitors in Yuma for dove hunting season reported hearing a car alarm in the hotel parking lot, prompting one of the victims to look out the window. The victim told deputies he saw a man’s legs hanging out of the rear window of his truck.
The victim alerted his fellow hunters, and the group went outside to confront the suspect while calling 911. They were able to subdue the man and hold him on the ground until deputies arrived.
