Week Two proved to be a challenging slate for Yuma County teams on Friday, as Gila Ridge was the lone program to come out with a win over visiting Greenway 28-14 on a busy night for local squads. Other teams in action that fell on Friday were Antelope, Kofa, Somerton, Yuma Catholic and Yuma High.

Gila Ridge 28, Greenway 14

Gila Ridge (1-1) rebounded from a disappointing season debut against Lake Havasu with a strong win over Greenway (0-2) in its home debut, riding three strong quarters to a 28-14 victory.

The Hawks struggled initially, falling behind after an unsuccessful first drive and conceded a score in a matter of minutes. However, a highlight touchdown from junior running back Kanai Hongo and dominant defensive play gave the team some momentum to dominate the rest of the game.
