Many of us have a story of fighting for our Scottish notes to be accepted south of the border, but now a major British pub chain has announced a change that will undermine all our protested claims of what qualifies as legal tender. ‌

J D Wetherspoon, or Wetherspoons as it is most commonly known, has banned Scottish £20 and £50 notes at its English pubs after reports they're being used by criminal gangs. ‌

Punters haven't been able to spend the Scottish cash since November last year, but the move has only emerged following numerous customer complaints . Experts say the move could render Scottish notes "worthless" outside of Scotland. ‌
