BAY SHORE, MI - For years, a beautiful piece of property that snugs up to Little Traverse Bay had been a walking spot for a couple of families, their friends and close neighbors.

Now, it’s home to a new half-mile and universally accessible trail that is open to all. And it features a lovely waterfront viewing platform as well.

Little Traverse Conservancy this week announced the opening of the trail at its Place of Peacefulness Nature Preserve, also known as Enji-minozhiiyaamigak.

This 56-acre preserve is tucked into the scenic area known as Bay Shore, a former Up North train stop that sits between Petoskey and Charlevoix just off U.S. 31.
