A violent collision left a woman dead when her car was T-boned by another vehicle in Van Nuys early Wednesday morning.

The crash was reported near a shopping center on Van Nuys and Burbank boulevards around 1:45 a.m.

Video showed that the driver's side of the victim's car was smashed almost completely into the passenger side of the vehicle.

The unidentified driver, believed to be a 35 to 40-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson confirmed to KTLA.

The driver of the second vehicle and at least one passenger were taken to a local hospital in unknown condition.

The cause of the crash, including whether the second vehicle was speeding or may have run a red light, was still under investigation.
