YOUNGSTOWN A man who approached a Youngstown police officer to ask if he was "doing good" was arrested after a records check revealed he was wanted on a felony warrant.

Tremayne Byrd Jr., 30, of Franklin County, was taken into custody Tuesday evening after the encounter at the Western Reserve Transit Authority station on W. Federal St., according to a police report.

The report states that an officer was on an investigation at the station when Byrd approached him and asked the officer to run his name to make sure he was "doing good." Byrd provided his state-issued identification card.

The officer ran Byrd's information through the Law Enforcement Automated Data System and discovered an active, full extradition warrant for a parole violation out of Franklin County. The original charge f
