SEVEN HILLS, Ohio -- It’s fitting that the 70th wedding anniversary gift is platinum considering the No. 1 song in the country on the day Robert and Donna Mercuri were married in 1955 was Bill Haley & His Comets’ massive hit “Rock Around the Clock.”

“I wonder where the time went, really,” said Donna, 88.

“It’s funny that my husband just turned 90 and I can’t figure out where the time went. We had a wonderful life and we’ll hopefully have more.”

Robert added, “It’s amazing to come through these many years. I look at it and wonder how I got here, but I have a lovely wife. That makes it easy.”
