Dear Good Job,
I need to know if I’m being unreasonable. I’ve been with my company for two years and took over for someone who retired after more than 30 years with the firm. This is very typical of the company as they have amazing benefits, pension, and stock options. The person who retired, “David,” was replaced by two people, myself and the son of one of our founders, “Joe”. It’s not unusual that Joe works here, most of the founders’ kids and grandkids do, and most of them do a great job and are nice people. That is surprisingly not why I’m writing.
David’s job was split in two—think contracts and technical work. I am technical
