BUFFALO, N.Y. — D’Youville University has been granted approval to open the first College of Osteopathic Medicine in Western New York, marking the region’s first new medical school in nearly 200 years.

The American Osteopathic Association’s Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation granted the pre-accreditation for the D’Youville University College of Osteopathic Medicine, allowing the school to begin admitting students in fall 2026.
