HANOVER TWP. — A man from Plains Township was recently charged with initiating a pursuit with the Pennsylvania State Police at Shickshinny that began on the South Cross Valley Expressway and ended on a cul-de-sac in Larksville.

Mark Joseph Worzel, 53, of Kennedy Drive, failed to stop for traveling 77 mph in a 55 mph zone on the expressway in Hanover Township on Aug. 30, according to court records.

Worzel turned onto South Main Street in Hanover Township and accelerated at a high rate of speed passing through traffic signals, stop signs and other vehicles in on-coming traffic, court records say.

State police in court records say they pursued Worzel through the municipalities of Hanover Township, Wilkes-Barre, Kingston, Plymouth and Larksville.
