WILKES-BARRE — Testifying at a Senate hearing on Tuesday, Luzerne County Community College President John Yudichak said Pennsylvania faces a projected 218,000-worker shortage by 2032 due to credential gaps — including more than 12,000 workers needed in the trades and maintenance alone.

Yudichak joined leaders from across Pennsylvania for a public hearing on strategies to enhance partnerships between educators and workforce development organizations.

The hearing, hosted by the Senate Majority Policy Committee and chaired by Sen. Gene Yaw, R-Williamsport, and Sen. Dave Argall, R-Pottsville, took place at Lycoming College on Tuesday.
