MCLEANSVILLE, N.C. — A teacher and two staff members suffered minor injuries after a "physical altercation" involving two students at Northeast Guilford High School on Tuesday, Sept. 2, the principal confirmed.

Principal Katrinka Brown told parents in a voicemail acquired by WFMY News 2 that both students involved will face school and legal consequences.

“No other students were involved, and I'd like to thank the students who did the right thing and reported the situation,” Brown said.

Brown said the school is taking the matter "very seriously."

According to Mike Richey, the Assistant Superintendent of School Safety for Guilford County Schools, the incident happened during school hours after a class change, and there were no weapons involved. He added that other students at the school
