The Nelson County Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a candidates’ forum on Sept. 8 to give county voters an opportunity to hear from and ask questions of those seeking office in local races in the upcoming election.
The forum will be held at the Nelson Center in Lovingston. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. when attendees can submit written questions to be asked of the candidates. The event begins at 6:30 p.m.
Another candidate forum also is set for 6 p.m. Sept. 15 at the Rockfish Valley Community Center in Afton.
Three seats each on the Nelson County Board of Supervisors and the Nelson County School Board are on the ballot in the Nov. 4 election. In the East District, incumbent supervisor Jesse Rutherford is running unopposed for a third term.
