GEORGIA, USA — Fifteen people were killed in crashes over the Labor Day holiday weekend across Georgia, according to the Department of Public Safety.
The Labor Day holiday travel period began Friday, Aug. 29, at 6 p.m. and ended on Monday, Sept. 1, at 11:59 p.m.
Georgia State Patrol Troopers investigated nine deadly crashes, while local law enforcement agencies responded to four fatal crashes, mainly in Hall County and DeKalb County.
Authorities report over 280 crashes across Georgia, resulting in 150 injuries.
GSP also reported nearly 10,000 citations, more than 14,000 warnings, and more than 400 drivers arrested for driving under the influence.
